Conventional bow shape with side-opening bow doors, and a ramp behind - she was ex-LSM 500 (Landing Ship Medium) - not LCM. Many were converted for other uses, including cargo ships and ferries as well as barges - I suppose that there was plenty of longitudinal strength and a single hold space, so quite versatile.
Brent, it was a former US landing craft converted into a depot ship for the Danish torpedo boats.
Seen here later than 1961 as the ships was darker before then.

Is the former name correct as I understand LCM = Landing Craft Motorised with a bow mounted ramp, but this vessel looks more like some sort of support vessel or hydrographic. Appreciate clarification.
