Placed under the management of Hamburg -Süd she left Hamburg
April 2,1938.Two days later she rescued the crew of 19 from the British cargo vessel Pegaway.When she was hit Jan.30,4 only 904 survivors rescued.Most victims were women, children,and wounded.
