Tropic, the word is also etched in my mind.
On my first visit to Las Palmas, I was informed of this swear word and then lent a car by a friend. The car needed fuel. I was told what to say at the attended gas station to 'fill her up' = 'lleno'.
They were my only two words of Spanish.
So, naturally I mixed the words up and told the attendent 'Konyo' instead.
The look on his face, after I had repeated the word several times to him, should have been photographed!
I am pleased to say, he advised me accordingly. LOL.

Thanks for the photo Tropic - the name leapt off the page at me....for unfortunate reasons.
Mitsui's ship naming committee didn't research this very well.
'Konyo' in Spanish is a *very* offensive & widely used term - think of the worst swear word in English....
Oops, best stay away from Spanish speaking ports then.
Regards, Rick
