If we get a couple of weeks of deep freeze, that ice will jam up somewhere in choke points between Montréal and Québec City and ships like her could stall in the ice like in February 1993 when the channel was jammed up solid for two weeks.
It's the river current that keeps the ice moving along with icebreaker work in sensitive areas. Also it has not been really cold yet which really helps. But our winter isn't over yet and it could give us a few nasty surprises...
