This class of ship was designed by Upper clyde shipbuilders, govan and built at Hyundai , South Korea, They were superb cargo liners and very well built. They had a light displacement of abt.7400 tons which when compared with their dwat of abt. 11,600 metric tons was incredible. They were ice-strength had reefer space in the aft hold and from memory a coiled deep tank in no.3. The Stuelcken derrick was also a superb piece of equipment and had an SWL of 80mt. It pains me to tell you that several of these fine ships just rotted away in Warri, Sapele and Apapa whenb NNL when bust. Tragedy , as with competent management they could still be put to good use as I know from experience.
