Hi Rick, sorry about the date!, happened to look out my cabin window as we were nearing Dover and thought what a great photo it would make.

The maiden voyage of the M.V. "Ever Lambent".She is the 1st one of this type's fleet of the Evergreen international group.

A superb shot Peter, really shows her to the best advantage... time for me to change my desktop background again!
I think you have made a minor mistook on the date though- it was the 5th that she sailed down the Channel! ;-)
Bart, think again :- "Otherwise I can't see the possibility of the immense logistics that would have gone into making the above load possible."
The 'all-green' container stacks for the voyage from Hamburg, & subsequently back to the Far East, were a direct request from Evergreen to the container planners in Felixstowe. My oppo did the planning for it.
This is purely for promotional & photographic reasons, and good for them, I say.
If you look at Jens' fine image here:-
http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1636879
you can see how the odd colored boxes are being 'hidden' inside the stacks for final sailing from Rotterdam, a few days later, for the voavge back East.
Regards, Rick

A nice picture, where the boat is green and all containers are green

Great pic! I always liked the style of the Evergreen ships, seem to be a bit more classy then the others for some reason.

I wouldn't be surprised if all the containers on deck are empties coming straight from a factory in the East bound for various shippers in Europe to be loaded again.
Otherwise I can't see the possibility of the immense logistics that would have gone into making the above load possible.

Excellent foto, it must be said, a well-taken opportunity.
I bet it rarely has such a unique number of own-containers.
("Evergreen"....Does that mean "Never-Learn"?)

I admire the top slope of the stacked containers forward. The angle is clearly visual on this very good & really specific photo.
