Completed 1961 the largest tanker built in the UK to date, she had to move downriver from her builders Vickers at Newcastle sternfirst.
Achieved 17.25 knots on trials 2/7/1961.
She was the largest tanker to berth in New Zealand when she visited Marsden Point Refinery near Whangarei, New Zealand 28/5/1964 for the official opening.
