Hello Dennis,
as far as I know there were total 3 derricks to handle the container.

http://www.shipsnostalgia.com/gallery/data/510/medium/Bild_i_OLE-klipphh.jpg

The words of a former crew member:
...........she had been lengthened and a huge heavy lift crane has been installed on her, for to handle containers.

Lead ship of Johnsons seven Rio-Series sisters
- "Rio de Janeiro" 1957
- "Buenos Aires" 1957
- "Montevideo" 1957
- "Santos" 1958
- "Rosario" 1960
- "Brasilia" 1961
- "Bahia Blanca" 1963

Extremely interesting vessels with their then innovative crane concept. Those vessels get this complicated boom post when they have been lengthened around 1968/69.
Brgds,
Stefan
