These so called balconies are not of the type like those on the COSTA NEOROMANTICA which are jutting out making her look like an old six storey building in downtown Valletta.Let us hope the Costa owners dont paint them up like the these old wooden balconies adorning these old Maltese buildings .
These balconies on these buildings look great in all their colourful glory and are much needed in our hot climate.
But on cruise liners jutting out of their sides.God forbid.!

Ralph: I agree!

Clive: I agree! ...but you have forgot to mention the (N) EPIC!!

As her sides are broken up with smaller areas of balconies that are separated by areas of windows and placement of lifeboats it gives her a more interesting appearance. She looks far better than those ships such as Marina, Seven Seas Voyager or the Silverseas and Crystal ships that all have deck after deck of unbroken rows of balconies that just accentuates the floating apartment block look.

Jadran: the balcony craze started in the early 90s already, by 1999 balconies were already the norm.
While I think this a reasonably attractive ship, I have always disliked the fact that her sides appear so messy, with balconies, lifeboats and other stuff all haphazardly thrown together, no structure there at all.

As always Finish built ships have a great finish, fine lines, wonderful accomodation, well balanced design, German management, a truly complete package.

It's a pity that this very fine cruiser ship has any of those "new fashion" balconies onboard her ...and she is yet built 1999.

Taken at 8.15am.on a quite Sunday morning when the sun is still quite low and there was a cool light breeze that barely ruffled the sea surface .
