There are no records in the shipyard archives that this ship was launched as TURKMENIJA - this detail would be most interesting to hear about. Maybe "planned as" TURKMENIJA?

Picture taken between 1961 and 1968, as she was renamed PRIAMURYE in 1968 (not in '88 as Grosstonnage wants us to believe). This is the ship that sadly burned at Osaka in 1988. More info from Miramar Ship Index here below:
