Hi Robalisa, Well, using the Beaufort Wind Scale, a gale has to exceed "Severe Gale 9" to be rated as a "Storm".Eg,Force 8 is a "Gale" Force 9 = "Severe Gale" and 10 = "Storm".
It's been a while since I was at sea, maybe the use of the Beaufort scale has been dropped?
I seem to recall the description of a "Gale"(8) as "Abundant White Horses" (Wave breaking's)
(To twist an adage: Beauty is in the eye of the Storm'?)
But of course, none of this detracts in anyway from your excellent set of photographs! Thanks for posting: Much appreciated. Regards Steve.

Patagualino, the storm would be over force 6 or 7, I remember very well, because of this a few years ago.

best regards

Yes, super set of pics....well-taken! Made more dramatic by the relatively small size of ship...I doubt that is actually at Storm Force. Not enough "white horses" so less than Gale Force 8?
