Anyone unfortunate enough tonight to be on the Great Lakes will not be eating anything due to gale force winds with snow and high waves. Probably more conducive to praying that eating anything!

McDonalds is tasty but not filling at all, specially for a shipspotter who is in the middle of nowhere for hours.i ll prefer the steak of cpt.Ted!
@ Magogman&Cornelia: If you like sweet types of wine you should taste Mavrodafni too!

@ Cornelia: I would deeply recommend you the next time to taste the Tsantali or Macedonicos white wine onboard the ferry "Vitsentzos Kornaros" ..... I've tried it, guarantee excellent!

If it were not for various types of fast food my ship photography expeditions, few as they are, would be exercises in starvation. Besides, nothing wrong with McD's breakfast - very tasty. Perhaps too tasty!

Was nice to be at Kaliningrad and last summer at Kronshtadt.. no Kebab ! No Mac Donalds or Burger King, perhaps I come again.. :) When I am on a Greek ferry, I simply like - Greek food. When I was in USA (Seattle) I absolutely loved Crab Chowder and other fish dishes, but I generally do not like fried foods, as they ruin the taste of what it used to taste alike. Now, lets hope Vitzentsos Kornaros will travel a long time still, and let its passenger enjoy real Greek food onboard with a good bottle of Imiglikos Greek wine or Retsina

@cpt Ted: i dont disagree, generalities maybe aren't fair, but neither USA nor England are famous for their kitchen...if you ask anyone to name a food from these countries,do you bet that he ll respond with something different than fast food, club sandwitch, burger, kfc, macdonalds etc?
@Denis: maybe because food is a useful company for a shipspotter until ships appear, hehe!

How come this went from poetry to fast food?

I travel world wide,,and the worst hamburger I ever ate was actually at London , Gatwick,, hmm,,by that measure all englich food is bad ? of course not I would say. Actually when one sets fast food aside, in the USA you find the biggest diversity on foods in the whole world.
Of course if peoples who visit the USA going only Mc Donald,,then the impression is not wrong but far of the reality

Truth is that modern ships have less room for outside decks.USA-food you mean trash fast food??

Roy,perhaps slower but far better room arrangement onboard, as well good food in the 1 st class restaurant. Would be good if it was a newer ship, because then it would last longer :-) :-) Ships like Blut Star Ithaki I did not like because: Everywhere noisy TV, no small separated lounges. Horrible food onboard, USA-style, not like onboard this one, where one could get Moussaka or Souvlaki and Zaziki. On the Kornaros, also plenty deckspace and possibility to walk round ship. Also, I have taken photos and uploaded here ;)

It's slower than Blue Star Ithaki but i m sure it worthed the ride,it sails very comfortable as far as i know.

Roy, I wasgoing from Santorini to Piraeus. I actually had booked a return trip onboard Blue Star Ithaki, but no ferry then, but wait till next day. Next day, it was possible to take any other ferry back to Piraeus, so it was a surprise for me, to get onboard this ex. British Channel ferry, back to Piraeus.
