It also shows how different the design of modern cruise ships is compared to liners like the Olympic class. Many thrid class cabins were smaller, not as many facilities, smaller facilities, … It would be quite something to see the difference in reality though!

Just an imagination scenario:
If OLYMPIC would come today to Malaga, the modern tourist people would most probably say:
"What a small and ugly ship, how come it's still afloat"

Very very intestring comparisons..the top decks of the modern ships are higher than Titanic's funnels!

:-) Jens, "I don't believe it" .... "I think you over-played yourself" LOL

: serious conclusion in one word: AMAZING !

@ Manuel Mohedano Torres
WOW Manuel ... incredibly interesting comparison, a "wonder" to see & "not believe the eyes".
Thank you very much, I think I can say this also in the name of the other members, because OLYMPIC was sister of the ill-fated "gigantic" TITANIC and BRITANNIC (was supposed to be named GIGANTIC).

@ Jens Bolt
I still think that would be better & more impressive the comparison between:
OLYMPIC 45,324 gross tons vs INDEPENDENCE of the SEAS 154,407 gross tons

Best regards to Manuel, Jens & members of the site/Jadran

Interesting subject, indeed...
May I add the link to this montage: Oasis of the Seas and Titanic (makes the Titan look quite dwarfish...)

Impressive photo, Manuel! - I think the photo you found compares Titanic to Voyager of the Seas...

Jadran, a more modern comparison would be P&O's Oriana. She's got roughly the same size as Olympic and her two sisters, but no photo available...

Hi Jadran, I've found this photo comparing a Olympic class liner with the cruise 'Voyager of the seas' (I know Voyager and Independence are differents ships):

I wonder how the White Star Line's OLYMPIC would compare & look moored alongside the INDEPENDENCE of the SEAS !??

: could somebody (a photo professional) maybe create a photo-montage of such an imaginary scene ... would be utmost interesting to see the result !!!
