Stocznia Północna (Northern Shipyard) from Gdańsk, was for many years busy with 'special production' for Warsaw Pact:
couple hundreds of small naval crafts, including ca. 90 landing ships "Polnocny" class, but also hydrographic ships, etc.,
for navies and and maritime administrations of Warsaw Pact states. In seventies, fishing vessels for USSR were added.
In 1993 the company was commercialized and civilian production was extended: fire-fighting ships, tugs, ferries, AHTSs.
Among others, a number of container and multipurpose general cargo ships was built, starting with ca.500 TEU feeders:
