The tug ARATAKI seen here berthed at the Port of Lyttelton early 90's awaiting the tow of the old steam crane RAPAKI to Auckland (seen in the background). The tug was the former Timaru harbour Board tug AORANGI until 1985 when she was sold to the Royal New Zealand Navy Fleet Auxillary as general services vessel for berthing at Devenport Naval Base and target towing duties. Built by A&G Price Auckland - New Zealand 1969.
