DDGhansa has a photo of "Schnoorturm" at CONASTIL shipyard, Cartagena, 07-5-1987 showing obvious fire damage. She still has the distinctive "rounded" junction of the stem and the upper deck. Possibly the present bow shape was part of the post-fire re-build.

"Schnoorturm" was towing two Liberty ships from Panama to the Orient for scrapping when it had an Engine Room fire. I cannot remember the date, maybe late 1990's? "Schnoorturm" slipped the tow, and was itself towed back to Panama. One of the Liberty ships was also towed to Panama. The other was not found at the time but subsequently grounded in the Philippines, having drifted trans-Pacific!
