CLIVE => GOD knows who told us but it was intimated that the Royal Family often travel on that ship so it might be one of the reason that people called CANBERRA a Royal ship...
PAINTAR => Yes my friend ..... all the hazardous material safely being removed as the environmental agencies and even the people from British embassy have visit to see the demolition process....
I believe all the Answer being given to all my Friend out there ....

but my real question for you is: is it true that it took months until the scrappers could start work on taking CANBERRA apart? I have heard that once or twice, but never seen it confirmed.

The photo is one of a set taken to mark the occasion of Canberra's maiden voyage to Australasia and was taken approx 8 am on the 6th July 1961.
The Blue Star ship is either Canberra,Hobart or Newcastle Star.

There is a Blue Star boat, three Union Co. vessels and what looks like a Richardson Co. coaster berthed at Bledisloe wharf.
