As lovely as she looks, she was actually still a passenger ferry when this picture was taken. She is currently being converted back into a yacht.

CORRECTION: launched as ARGOSY and then subsequently bought by Sopwith and renamed VITA.

Granted, the name is hard to read in the image; but it is: SANTA MARIA DEL MARE

Launched as the yacht VITA by Krupp Germania Werft in 1931 for Sir Thomas Sopwith. Later (1942)she became CYTHERA II and then(PY 31)when commandeered by the US Navy
