Description:

Before beginning service on the Esbjerg - Harwich route the brand new Dana Regina made a special call to the Pool of London, I believe that she was the tallest ship to pass through Tower Bridge.

It was the Dana Anglia and they had a problem due to the funnel the TOP of which had to be removed to get her under the bridge.

I guess that I should have said "the tallest ship at that time" to pass under Tower Bridge.

Dana Anglia was the tallest. Part of the funnel had to be removed to get under the upper walkways

I think the Dana Anglia when she made a similar call in 1978 took the tital of the tallest ship to pass under Tower Bridge even though she had the top of her funnel missing at the time so she could pass safely under.
