This is the fish factory trawler that sank on 2 April 2015 in the Sea of Okhotsk, Russia, which resulted in the deaths of 56 crew, with another 13 crew missing.
There were 132 crew on board, from Russia, Burma, Ukraine, Latvia and Vanuatu.
For many years the vessel was operated from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria by Latvian owners.
Built in 1989 by Chernomorsky Sudostroitelni Zavod (Black Sea Shipbuilding Yard), Nikolayev, Ukraine (581).
4,407 g.t. and 1,810 dwt., as:
'Stende' until 2014 and
'Dalniy Vostok' until she foundered on 02/04/2015.
