Hello Phil, Ken and Allan,

Thank you very much for your information on this mystery ship.
I have compared my photo with a photo of Lobito and I am pretty sure that it really is Lobito.

regards,

Wil

Lobitos (7366350) would absolutely make sense as she was towed from Peru to China for scrapping in May 2011. Presumably the tug was Salvage Champion. It also explains why the name is painted out if she was sold 'as is'. The vessel in your link, Ken, is a different one - much smaller and older.

Phil

That was pretty smart detection Alan, I think you could be right but I have found this one Peruvian flagged, what do you think.? http://maritime-connector.com/ship/lobitos-6524450/

There are 4 flags painted on the top of the bridge, giving the call sign I presume, they look like OBPH which as far as I can tell belongs to the Peruvian navy tanker Lobitos ATP-153, IMO 7366350, Used as a storage vessel. Built 1975

hope this helps

Allan
