Its not just the winter, but it is also the color of the ship, and all that simply does fit together. "spotti" mentioned the butter-colored superstructure of Maersk owned ships. I never liked it much. Color is called "beige" here and we say, it is not a color. All becomes beige - after a while :-)

It's quite rare to see one of my images reach the top spot in viewing. Makes me feel good even if it's not a popularity contest. The ship was resplendent in her new paint job which adds contrast to this steamy view.
Thanks everybody for commenting on this photo.

Excellent shot, Marc! It is also good to see the nice ex-P&O Nedlloyd white (and red) superstructure instead of the butter-colored of Maersk-design. What kind of stuff do you fill into those containers? It is quite unusual to see a vessel with a limited number of on-deck containers loaded down to the limit/marks!

Quite a shot Marc; it was really cold that day; i remember but now those bad weather are over (at least i hope) for this year! Ces grands froids ont l'avantage pour les courageux de donner des images splendides. Quite a pretty lady MAERSK PEMBROKE!

Merci Jacques

Nice weather for nice photos. I've been dealing with these conditions in ship photography for 40 years but I would by far prefer photographing ships in balmy Port Everglades in winter time like some of my snowbird friends. Getting old I guess...

Hi Marc.
As i can see i'am not the only one who deal with this kind of weather.

As Robert said it is an advantage for the courageous to go outside and took great picture of our canadian winter along the St-Lawrence river.

Beau travail Marc.
Salut
A bientot.

Merci Robert

At least I didn't have to go to work in this cold weather; one of the benefits of being in retirement...

The photograhic opportunity here was too good to be missed even if I had to deal with the cold.
Fortunately there was little wind making it more bearable.

Ok, I will stop moaning about the cold here in the UK at a relatively balmy 3C ... nice 'real working life' shot
