The great "Milk Cow" of all databases, Lloyd's Register probably got it wrong when she was renamed and all the rest followed sheep-like.

Thank you Paul, it's not just the database that's incorrect, but even official sources quoting her loss spell the name "BIANCA MARIE". Everything is only as good as the information made available which, when ships are under non-international class, is not necessarily reliable.

When thinking logic, MARIE is not a Spanish word and MARIA is correct.
It's a fault in the database.

Because I have read the name BIANCA MARIA on the hull and wheelhouse by myself when I visited the wreck !
No doubt !

Good photo but her name at loss is universally recorded as BIANCA MARIE. What evidence is there to support the spelling as BIANCA MARIA?

Hi Captain Ted,
I visited the wrecksite several times over the years.
Klein Curacao is one of the hottest islands in the Caribbean with no shades for the hot sun and only a few local fishermen on the white beach.
BIANCA MARIA was wrecked in 1988 but nobody seems to know the exact date.
In 1991 the name GUIDESMAN was still readable on the bow.
regards, Paul

Great to see someone take a picture from the shore side of her
I posted her sometime back from a different angle. She site there years and years, one thought first she was at anchor
only when coming closer one realized she was a wreck. Now of course she is falling apart.
Thanks for posting paul
