Description:
This is the 1st of the new build multipurpose 31 series of 8 cargo and container carrying ships for the China Navigation Company, a subsidiary of Swire Shipping.
Built at the Zhejiang Ouhua Shipyard in Zhoushan, China, it was christened on March 13th along with sistership "Shantung" IMO 9614488.
Shansi is the 201st newbuilding of the China Navigation Company since it was founded in 1872.
Here it is at Jellicoe Wharf, Auckland on 10.05.2013, on it's maiden voyage to New Zealand. Photo taken from Stanley Bay.
