Bulk carrier built in Georgi Dimitrov Yard - Warna ( Bulgaria) for PŻM ( Polish Steamship Company ) ,
polish project B451A . The vessel was launched in March 1970 . Completed 06 Aug 1970.
25th Aug 1970 arrived Szczecin . Maiden voyage with coal - Szczecin - Danmark .
08th June 1982 transfered to ŻEGLUGA POLSKA S.A. ( part of POLSTEAM ) .
October 1988 : The vessel run aground in vicinity of SLIGO ; Released after two weeks .
Under Polish flag the vessel served over 800 ( 803) voyages.
Sold to Greek owners , handed over 19th March 1991 in GDYNIA.
Renamed UNITY IV (four) , registered in HONDURAS.
Later on reflaged to St.Vincent & The Grenadines.
Since February 1998 renamed PIGI K . The name changed again 2002 to MARE.
12th February 2004 , during stormy weather on Sea of Marmara , the vessel was
stroke by Liberian bulk carrier SOLAR EUROPE , driffting without propulsion in vicinity
of port KARABIGA . MARE sunk next day due to serious damage .
Unfortunately 1 (one) crewmember die.
Wreck was removed from the seabed in parts within 2006 - 2007 .
