Passage Spijkenisserbridge (river: Oude Maas).
The transformerplatform Dolwin-Alpha was moved on a pontoon from the builder's yard at Dordrecht to her fitting out berth at Schiedam on Sunday May 26th. It's dimensions are LOA 65 mtrs., beam 45 mtrs. and height 55 mtrs., at 9500 DWT. Eventually she'll serve a windmill park in the German Bight.
Both Spijkenisser- as well as Botlek bridge had to be passed. There was very little room left to manoeuver: less than two feet width and height.
Tugs involved were: En Avant 1, En Avant 7 and Mikida leading as well as Smit Ebro, Smit Schelde and Matricaria astern. Authorities monitored the entire operation from RWS 24 and RPA 2.
