Interesting and tragic fate. Built as one of the last passengerships by the ailing Dutch shipbuilding industry. Sailed 3 years as a cruiseliner, then converted to trasnport totally different living creatures. Finally broken up in 1984 i.e. after 12,5 years....

Acc. to my info & memory, as Cun.Ambassador, she suffered from a serious fire on board and was declared a CTL (Constr.Total Loss), subsequently bought from the Insurers at scrap value and converted by Clausen into a livestock carrier. I am pretty sure they have saved the non fire damaged part of the accommodation for their crewmembers, hence the remarks @ chani singh!

The fine line between livestock carrier and passenger ship gets ever finer :)

I bunkered her many times in Port Adelaide as the Linda Clausen and also the Procyon...nice easy bunker.

@Ted Yes, just a need to get rid of all the unnecessary stuff inside & it's ready for new passengers!

My all time favorite ship when she used to call Keppel shipyard for dry docking & repairs lasting a month. Crew of 75, mainly Danish senior officers and Pakistani stockmen. Fantastic accomodation for senior officers and panoramic lounge was quite a treat to have lunch at.
