Description:

The now-decommissioned car ferry 'Saturn' languishes alongside the Rosneath Jetty on the Gare Loch. She began her long career serving many of the Firth of Clyde resorts in February 1978 and was a favourite to many. Eventually , after 33 years service , she was subsequently withdrawn into retirement on 30th August 2011. Without her annual overhauls , she looks pretty forlong with rust showing it's ugly head through her faded paintwork after two years of idleness. Taken on 6th July 2013. (Gourock as nearest recognised port)

UPDATE ; After 42 months in-storage , Saturn has been purchased by Pentland Ferries Ltd to be utilised as a freight ship in Orkney and officially renamed ORCADIA in April 2015 and finally left the Clyde for her new life in the north on 22nd April 2015.
