Hi Stefan,

The tanks on GRACE are outside on deck - but she still has such an "extra-funnell" aft - just above the tanks. (First I thought it would be the flagstaff.)

Thanks for the informations about the pipes, but where are the pipes on the Viking Grace than?

Slight amendment: the pipes are indeed valves, but they are required to release the so-called "boil off" that alwasy occurs with LNG tanks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liquefied_natural_gas
(see onder "Refrigeration"). It is unfortunate that the pipes had to be added, they are a bit of a nuisance on an otherwise GREAT looking ship.

She is in service now. I think the pipes are some emergency "valves" to release the gas if there should be any problems.
