PORT ALMA

UK

Built 1928 the fifth and last of the Port Fremantle class of 1927. She had the third longest service record with Port Line at nearly 36 years, third only to Port Dunedin and Port Fairy at around 37 years services each.

Unlike her sister Port Fairy she had an uneventful career apart from serious engine problems in 1964 which resulted in her going to the breakers.

20/12/1940 damaged by near misses during bombing raid.

24/7/1964 arrived Auckland with damaged port crankshaft, immediately sold for scrap and arrived 30/8/1964 at Osaka for breaking up.
