I wonder if it would be possible to remove the wreck of the medditteranean sky at eleusis Greece
The only thing that would stop it would be the cost
She's in a similar position

Hi Dan

Just do what you do well. Remember, you Guys are trying something so massive...say no more.

If you Guys are succesfull, a new Benchmark will have been set.

Never ever want to see broken like this. Could you possibly imagine something worse not caused by Natural Elements ??

All the best,
tvtech

You can clearly see the ship profile on Google Earth satellite pix. Search on Giglio, Italy and zoom in.

We are trying our best tvtech to succeed with the parbuckling, I cannot disclose as and when it will happen due to my signed confidentiality agreement but I am sure it will be in the media as and when it will happen !

Cheers, Dan.

You know and thanks Dan...

History in the making.....When I hear that the Concordia is almost ready for Parbuckling...I will be watching..

A massive, ambitious project....However if all happens and the Concordia is sucessfully re floated and removed...Microperi and Titan will be a household name. I really wish them the very best. And I admire their determination of completing the job and proving the point of doing something that others said was impossible..

God Speed.

I haven't followed the rescue operation too much, so I am wandering what the experts here think about this. Will they be able to refloat her?

@ Dan. Please take more shots from the ferry. The Webcam of Giglio only shows vessels moving around...not actually how the whole Parbuckling is progressing.

I am watching progress very closely.

To clarify for the sake of full understanding:
I have commented my first comment only in the instance of this very moment and time & this very picture and one seen detail on it.

I myself duly follow the emotional kind words written by Soren in his below comment and feel free to herewith repeat them as follows .....I still send my warmest thoughts to those people, who lost their lives in this tragedy - and of course their families and friends etc.!

Kind regards /Jadran :-)

This is a very sad sight!

I remember when I saw, and photographed, her twice in Barcelona some years ago... I never thought such a disaster would overcome her (who ever thought that about any ship?), but then in all of a sudden - on a Friday the 13th - the nightmare became a reality :-(

I still send my warmest thoughts to those people, who lost their lives in this tragedy - and of course their families and friends etc.!
Hopefully the cruise ship industry have learned a hard lesson to improve safety on board, so that such a tragedy will never happen again!

Thanks for sharing this pic.

Best regards,
Søren

It would have been more interesting if it had turned turtle in Venice... would the verdict have been any different. Tongue in cheek comment!!

Much interesting to see that they have constructed an Office Barrack on the sloped ship's hull (forward).

Everytime I view this dreadful wreck scene, I wonder if the good master has figured out why he was let go! mrdot.
