Photo was taken prior to her service in the Falklands. Clive you are correct she returned to service after the war.

I think franks is confused with the poor old UGANDA!

Franks, I think you must be mistaken. Canberra was not placed in lay-up and left to rust away after the Falklands war. She was given a refit and was returned to cruise service again. As such she enjoyed huge popularity until she was eventually withdrawn from service in 1997.

Yes, I agree, she was probably my most viewed passenger vessel ever, I saw her every where over the years, many times...You always new when we saw her with her unique design etc. she stood out from the all the rest.
