You are correct regarding JOSE ALENCAR, David. How remiss of me to get that wrong considering I have the information right here in front of me every day ;-)

As you say, it still doesn't explain the mysterious disappearing wheelhouse!

Sisters? I thought that:
JOSE ALENCAR - last of the four 48,300dwt (Yd M199/200/2003/2004)
ANITA GARIBALDI - first of two 72,900dwt, transferred from Estaleiro Eisa (Yd EI511/512)
The difference of size can be seen in http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1784953 - and note that the bridge/accommodation blocks are not the same.
So far as I know, the JOSÉ ALENCAR was always due for earlier delivery.

As to the mystery of the ANITA GARIBALDI wheelhouse, Mauá won't be needing it for the next one yet - EI512's keel was apparently laid at Mauá as soon as ANITA GARIBALDI vacated the slip - 5.50m on video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3uvuJ0IUu0

But I wonder what's happening with the other two of EISA's order (EI513/514)? Perhaps the wheelhouse/mast section has been taken over to the EISA yard? Time for a trip to Governador, Edson?

No doubt about the same ship in both photos.
My opinion in this case is of error project.

Ah, yes, I didn't see that photo Ralph. Back to the drawing board but, as you say, it might be swapped with yet another sistership.

Phil, not so sure about your theory of swapping the deckhouses with the JOSE ALENCAR. Check this picture of JOSE ALENCAR and ANITA GARIBALDI together:

http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1784953#

On the other hand, it could be possible that the bridge section of ANITA GARIBALDI has been placed on yet another sister vessel.

I'm wondering if they transferred the bridge of the ANITA GARIBALDI to the sistership JOSE ALENCAR. You can see the two ships here: http://tugster.wordpress.com/tag/anita-garibaldi/

My guess is that they are now planning to deliver JOSE ALENCAR in advance of ANITA GARIBALDI, possibly due to problems with what was intended to be the lead vessel (not unusual in Brazil..) and a quick solution to make that possible is to swap the deckhouse.

Most peculiar!

The position of shoreside cranes and buildings suggests that it's the same hull as in the December photo - unless they swapped berths - which is unlikely.

Very strange indeed! I see three possibilities:

1) reconstruction of the bridge due to damages / quality issues
2) the vessel will be finished as an FPSO
3) The name ANITA GARIBALDI has been transferred to a sistership, so we might in fact not be looking at the same hull here as in December 2012.
