You're welcome John (& Ken). I felt I ought to give it a shot, as I have spent many a pleasant afternoon sitting at the end of the quay in the background (Muelle Reina Sofia) and which itself no longer exists in that form. It was extended by several hundred metres a few years ago, and we lost the high viewing platform that was on the pre-extended bit! With regard to the date of the image, the ship must have been Northbound from Nigeria and (I suspect) entering the port for bunkers. She appears to be part loaded too. All good fun. Regards, Rick

Hi Rick, Thank you very much for your efforts. I have spent days searching for St......ress, that unfortunately included anything with Express!. I have narrowed the date down to 18th December and it will definitely be within a day of that. Kind regards, John

Hi John, it is IMO 7627649 "Stavrakis S." Took some sieving of all vessels ending with 'IS S' but found her.
Lloyds Index of 28/12/1998 shows vessel sailed from Port Harcourt on 05/12/1998 for an unknown destination. Can you date the photo more precisely, I wonder?
