Robert, thank you for your compliment. Remember Bubendey Ufer is a floating pontoon... I just have to paddle like crazy to get out of the way again:-))

Don, maybe the "loadmaster" is even more sophisticated and a master with Rubic's cube:-) Thank you very much, too!

I'll bet the 'Loadmaster' on this is a whizz kid with Lego !

Great shot! Those little tugs will not be able to help this massive ship if the wind decides to blow...

A superb shot& an enjoyable series Jens.
The extra comments make interesting reading too.
@Denis. I do believe you're right about that lack of power to shift her massive bulk.
@Ulf. Thank you for that info. I would never have known otherwise.
Tomas- non ISO size.... yep, that is about right for most things Norwegian! ;-)

Superb photo, Jens!

The green Bring containers are of non ISO-size, optimized for European/Norwegian road and railroad transport with a length of 23 or 24 ft and 2,55 m (8.5 ft) width. That makes the stowage on a containership designed for 8 ft (2,44 m) wide containers difficult.

Congratulations on this bow shot of this special ship, extra big with extra green containers and a rare sight - the ships name being so long that it has to be written in two lines :)

This photo is a classic "School Lecture".
Lesson and Rule no.5:
"Bow shots are acceptable if they show the vessel from the waterline to the top of the superstructure"

A BIG BRAVO for *teacher* JENS BOLDT !

Kind regards /Jadran

Well, I think CMA CGM Alexander von Humboldt and her sisters Jules Verne and Marco Polo are the only ships of that size calling at Hamburg, and at least at the moment it seems unlikely that there's more than one here calling at the same time...

Are there any containers left for Hamburg then? My supermarket ran out of mango yoghurt, I'm waiting desperately :-))

More ships like this there & that will happen all the time!
While those green containers go to Tomas, I'm sure some of the brown owns will be soon delivered to me by LAPPLAND.

Denis, thanks a lot, too. There were three tugs in all (one more aft), hardly any wind today, so I think they were on the safe side. The only obstacle was her being towed backwards into Waltershofer Hafen, the harbor police had to block all traffic on the Elbe for that purpose...
Cheers, Jens

Thanks for your compliments, Tomas and Mark:-)

So, Tomas, is there a reason why the green ones are stacked up front, or is it just because it looks nice?:-))
(Btw, if I'd known they go to Norway I'd have attached a pm for youvia bow and arrow!)

Cheers, Jens

Superb shot, Jens! I think those tugs won't be able to do anything when that monster goes wrong.
