H/S/F SUPERFAST VI auslaufend Igoumenitsa im Juni 2012. Anfang 2013 musste SUPERFAST FERRIES die luxuriöse Fähre aus finanziellem Druck an die GENTING GROUP (USA) verkaufen. Neuer Name des Schiffes ist BIMINI SUPERFAST. Sie wird nun auf der Route von Miami nach Bimini auf den Bahamas eingesetzt.

H/S/F SUPERFAST VI departure of Igoumenitsa in june 2012; in beginning of 2013 SUPERFAST FERRIES had to sell the lxurious ferryboat. New owner is Genting Group (USA), new name BIMINI SUPERFAST. The ship is now travelling between Miami and Bimini (Bahamas).

He sister ship is still running between Nova Scotia and Newfoundland Canada I think her name was superfast vii or viii

Indeed it is very sad for the Greek shipping companies. I'm a big fan of Superfast ever since I sailed on one of their ships from Belgium to Scotland so I always find it very sad whenever I read about one of their ships being sold. I thought SUPERFAST V and her sister SUPERFAST VI were the best looking ships they had

Those pair of wings on the funnel, which I believe serve no purpose to the ship performance, but a nice add-on to the outlook indeed.

@ Denis: the small ramp on the left side is used for passengers. There is no cattle transported between Italy and Greece.

@ Cedric: Thanks for your nice compliment. As we all know the financial situation of greek shipping companies is very difficult. Unfortunately the SUPERFAST VI is not the only beautiful ferry which had to leave the route between Italy and Greece due to economic reasons the last time... Just to mention some names: SUPERFAST V, EUROPA PALACE & OLYMPIA PALACE, LEFKA ORI, SOPHOKLES V, IONIAN KING, IONIAN QUEEN, ...

Wonderful shot this! Sadly she had to leave the Superfast fleet
