Description:

In May 1979, Queen Elizabeth II visited Aarhus with her yacht HMRY BRITANNIA. On the quayside, she was welcomed by the Danish Queen Margrethe II.

Follow Ships for HMRY BRITANNIA through Danish waters was HMS SHEFFIELD D80, sunk by an Exocet air-launched anti-ship missile from a Super Etendard aircraft belonging to the Argentine Navy on 4 May 1982 during the Falklands War and HDMS PEDER SKRAM F352, now docked at Holmen in Copenhagen where it serves as a museum ship, part of the Royal Danish Naval Museum.

Certainly HMY BRITANNIA it is a beautiful ship. One must only regret that she is now a museum ship in Edinburgh and no longer are in active service.
