A report on the local Gibraltar Chronicle newspaper states that British officials are urgently investigating reports that a Norwegian-flag seismographic research ship was refused permission to dock in the Canary Islands on the basis that its last port of call was Gibraltar.

A report in the Las Palmas newspaper La Provincia claimed the Viking Vanquish, pictured above, had been denied entry by the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
