That is one ugly ship!

About a century ago, a Naval Architect pointed out that he wanted to design ships that looked like ships, but passengers insisted upon travelling in ships designed to make them forget that they were, in fact, at sea.
Unfortunately, I cannot find this quote on the Internet. Perhaps someone else will have better luck!
Now, I understand the 'Form Follows Function' concept, but back in the 20th Century, there was a U.S. 'industrial designer' named Raymond Loewy who managed to combine Form and Function into some of the most beautiful objects ever created.
Being a 'train nut', I always associated him with the Pennsylvania Railroad's GG1 electric locomotive. Yes, he helped to design it, but he designed so much over so many decades that the GG1 isn't even mentioned on his Wikipedia page (he's mentioned, briefly, on the GG1 Wikipedia page).
I firmly believe that the 21st Century needs men AND WOMEN who will bring Raymond Lowey's design sensibilities into the present day.
