Description:
Sheffield class(Type 42)Destroyer D86 HMS BIRMINGHAM,at Portsmouth Aug1994. Completed in 1976 by Cammel Laird,Birkenhead,she grossed 3,660 tons had a complement of 280 and a top speed of 30knots.Armament 1x 4.5"gun 2x20mm guns,Sea Dart Missile System,6xtorpedo tubes and a Lynx helicopter.Paid off in 1999.

Great shot of the finest ship in the Navy (until she paid off of course, in November 1999!!)
