Hello CaptEricHL, it was nice to hear from you as the last captain of GGS ATLANTIC, I believe it may not be so nice for you to see scrap pictures of such a carefully maintained ship as you sailed with, but unfortunately it's the way it go when they can no longer be used.

Hi Bendt, good day, I'm Capt. Eric, I was the last Captain of this wonderful vessel. I was there when it was last dry dock in Gdansk, Poland. I commanded this ship on 2010. I agree with you and Capt Dag that she is in good condition and a fine ship. Well maintained ship in and out. During rough wx, no heavy pounding or rolling, she rides the waves very well. It sad to see that she will sail no more.

She looks to be good condition.maybe she could have been sold into another industry for conversion for more than her scrap price.

Yes, in many ways it was a fine ship, but the technology has overtaken what it could performing in seismic surveys.
