Spot on Chas, 60 i am, so that answers Matty as well, and there was a lot of s**t came out of Glasgow and surrounding area.
These ships also served as pleasure cruisers on the Clyde doing day trips out to sea, and back after dumping, many many thousands of passengers traveled on them.
Led to believe that there was huge waiting lists to get on them.

SS = steamship,(SS Shieldhall) not a mv motor vessel. Still powered by two triple expansion steam engines which are set vertically in a similar way to the much larger engines on the RMS Titanic.
Phantom53 (guess you are 60 for MattBoy).. a lot of effluent must have come out of Glasgow?

I remember this ship, and the Dalmarnock-IMO 7029627, along with Garroch Head-IMO 7429293, plying their trade up and down the River Clyde, them were the days!!!!!!!!!!
