@JVindio, I remember the scrapping of the TK Bremen very well.
But I also do recall that the mayor of Les Sables d'Olonne suggested to scrap the Artemis, as first attempts to refloat her by les Abeilles had failed. The tourist industry however made money.
But that is al history now, she is still sailing around luckily.

@Swtk No, I think you speak about TK BREMEN, in 2011, beached in South-Brittany (France) http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/photo.php?lid=1894396 TK BREMEN was scrapted on that beach. ARTEMIS was refloated :)

Was'nt that the ship the mayor wanted to scrap immediately as he did'nt want to have a messy beach when the tourists would come???

Lol Allan. Not a bad idea ^^ If i rember, the first trial to refloat the ship failed, so they have to stablized she and wait 3 or 4 weeks, with the very high tide :)
