No Ozzy. Fortune types were from the pen of Canadian design firm GTR Campbell and built by I.H.I., Japan. The same partnership that brought you the hugely successful Freedom and Freedom Mk.II.

This ship is a product of Hitachi Zosen and relates to a series of 13 ships built in the early-mid 1980s

Is this one of those Fortune type bilkers??? I read about them on the comments here...All I know is that they (i.e fortune) were a standard Japanese design...Was there anything else groundbreaking about the type?? The only other standard ships I know about POST WW 2 are the SD-14 type. Are they historically/ or in other ways significant ships. Nice photo Claus..I do like the Bulkers!!!!
