Alfred Holt's classic Blue Funnel liner Orestes.
completed by Workman, Clark & Co Ltd at Belfast in June 1926, Orestes was the highest-powered diesel-engined cargo ship afloat. She had an eventful World War II including being attacked by the [surfaced] Japanese submarine I24 off Sydney in June 1942.
Broken up at Mihara in August 1963.
