Built as Hans Broge for DFDS by Helsingørs Jernsk. & Msk. in 1939, Achilleus is seen sailing from Stockholm on 4 June 1975, presumably for Mariehamn. Laid up Stockholm 1979, then broken up Finland, July 1983

She was flying the Cypriot flag; she was owned by a subsidiary of Epirotiki Lines, (Potamianos Ionian Lines Co. Ltd., Famagusta, Greece.

I can just about cope with the yellow funnel but the clouds on the funnel are just too much! On the other hand, what a lovely ship. The unexpected discovery that someone has posted such great pictures of such an interesting and handsome old ship such as this it what makes this site worthwhile. Thank you.

Oh, in that case, ignore the patriotic bit! But then again, the Åland Islanders can never make up their minds whether they are Finnish or Swedish..... !
