Lb: 78.4 x 14.5 metres. Steel single screw diesel engined motorship built at the State Dockyard, Newcastle New South Wales for W Holyman & Sons Pty Ltd., Melbourne.

Cargo only and capable of 11 knots.

Regular berth at 18 South Wharf Victoria.

Commenced service 1st August 1961, on the 290 mile run across the Bass Strait between Melbourne, Victoria and Launceston, on the north coast of island State of Tasmania. Was the first Australian ship built specifically as a container carrier and embodies special features to facilitate fast and efficient cargo handling - Most cargo was loaded pre-packed in steel containers 16 feet long, 4 feet and 6 inches wide, and 6 feet deep. Sold 1976 to Maldives Shipping Ltd., registered Maldives and renamed Maldive Swift Fate - trapped Khorramshahr (Caught in Shatt-Al-Arab Waterway) 14 September 1980 & written off
