SAIGON QUEEN sank in the afternoon Oct 30,2012 off Sri Lanka, en route from Myanmar to Tutticorin, India. Vessel encountered storm caused by cyclone Nilam, last known position 22:20 Oct 29 - 07 58N 084 09E. Vessel capsized due to cargo shift, and sank, There were 22 crew on board of SAIGON QUEEN, 3 were rescued by bulk carrier PACIFIC SKIPPER (IMO 8405804) at around 21:20 LT, 15 went into life rafts and were rescued later, 4 went missing, among them captain and chief engineer.
