@ Steve
good point, the one where the priorities were !!! Most probably incl 24/7 streaming videos/internet and anyhow no time to do the job.

Hello Stefan. Unfortunately, from what I heard, the BELLA DESGAGNÉS is underpowered to work in heavy ice conditions. The ship has in the past month not been able to get into a few villages along the Lower North Shore. Icebreakers were sent but sometimes unless it was the CCGS TERRY FOX, they also had trouble. It is an exceptional winter for the amount of ice we had and still have. Some people in the business said that they should have put more money on the icebreaking capabilities than on the aesthetics onboard.

Is the icebreaker really a need for this new ship. I thought she was build for that routing. Even in wintertime in northern europe the big ferries run thru ice similar to this, I think.

It seems now that anytime a ferry comes in, an icebreaker has to assist.

I thought for a while, you were frozen in the ice that's why they sent Martha L.Black.

Hi Jack! Thank you. I'm at the end of the world so when I have ships that come around here I take advantage of it! :-)
