T2 Tanker, originally built 7/43 as Hat Creek. Sold to Amoco in 1957, jumboized and renamed Amoco Virginia. In 1959 she survived a serious explosion and fire in Houston, Texas (see attachment below). However, she was repaired and placed back into service until finally scrapped in 1983. Attached below, the official Coast Guard report on the explosion and fire aboard Amoco Virginia:

Rene it's amazing how many little docks like this have "dried up" over the years. back then you got a ship, now it would be barges only for sure. Great shot thanks for posting. 1973 and theyre keeping the rust under control, what we can see anyway!
